I don't know how to post youtube videos so here's a link

This is Peter King making a polycarbonate record. Check out the crazy sax solo.

interesting. some of the related videos are great too. did i tell you about my idea for LP-sized CDs? using refurbished laser discs... i'm wondering now if it would be possible to score the topside of a CD with grooves like a record & still keep the underside shiny & readable as a CD. like a vinyl-CD hybrid. really push the boundaries of format as commodity ya know?

we spoke about your idea for lp sized cds... where would we play those though?
i was thinking that would be an interesting way to release someone's entire catalog. Meaning all on the one disc.

A vinyl-cd already exists, apparently (according to Mr C. Hubbarde), but the vinyl side is really bad quality or something.
